The Show Screen is there to show all overdue work to the whole class. Use the front screen or the projector for this. There is no need to call on everyone individually. Late students hand in the work immediately.
Make this a fixed ritual every day. For example, before the break. Students who are not listed may already leave the classroom. Those who are listed hand in their work immediately.
